StepUp Programme
“Creating the next generation of LGBT leaders”

The StepUp Programme has two aims:

  1. To empower young LGBT people and equip them with the skills and experience necessary to be the next generation of LGBT leaders
  2. To increase the capacity of the LGBT sector by providing it with a new generation of leader

The StepUp Programme works with young LGBT people, equipping them with the skills and experience needed to carry out leadership roles in the LGBT community. We work directly with young people, providing training, encouraging personal and professional development, and placing them in leadership volunteering roles, often sitting on the Board of LGBT organisations. We also work in partnership with a number of LGBT organisations, supporting them to make sure that they can both offer a positive volunteering experience to, and benefit as much as possible from, their young volunteers.
