The Parenting Project

Why a Parenting Project?

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) people are increasingly likely to explore their sexual orientation or gender identity at an early age. For many LGBT people ‘coming out’ is an important point in their lives and an opportunity to be more open about their identity and relationships. Support from family and friends, particularly parents or carers, is essential for young people in terms of health, relationships and life success. Equally, many older LGBT people may face difficulties in relating to their parents or carers.
